Quick Start Guide
Goal: Find winning stocks using DDAmanda, the best stock screener for traders.
Why DDAmanda is Different
Unlike other stock scanners that produce long lists requiring time-consuming research, DDAmanda lets you rapidly evaluate the stocks that match the scan criteria one at a time.
Our Ai-powered scanner and unique metrics like $ Traded and Factor help you spot high-potential stocks instantly.

How It Works
DDAmanda's scanner evaluates the selected stocks one at a time, letting you quickly decide if they're worth your time. Here's how to get started:
Step 1: Log In and Access the Scanner
- Log in via the Member Login on the DDAmanda home page.
- The first screen: Enter a stock symbol (e.g., any symbol or "A" to start at the database's beginning) and hit Enter to access the main DDAmanda screen.
- The database runs from symbol A to ZZZZZ. Starting at "A" scans from the beginning.
- If you hover over any item on the screen, a tooltip explaining what it is will pop up. You can stop showing the tooltips by unchecking the checkbox at the top left.
Step 2: Find a Stock
- The scans are all preset with good values. The values are ones that we are currently using. But you can easily change these values as you wish.
- (The Scan parameters are used to filter stocks.)
- Select a scan from the dropdown field at the bottom of the Scanner Area (Try the Test Easy or 200 Day Low Scan).
- Click the Next button to scan from your current symbol. (You can also use the right arrow key on your keyboard).
- DDAmanda stops at the next stock matching the scan values.
- Evaluate the stock displayed. Click Next to continue or Prev to go back. (You can also use the right/left arrow keys.)
- Repeat until you find a stock worth researching, or reach the last stock ("ZZZZZ").
Step 3: Evaluate a Stock
DDAmanda's unique metrics help you assess stocks instantly:
- $ Traded: Shows daily dollar value traded (price x volume), revealing liquidity and money flow.
- Factor: Compares today's $ Traded to the 20 day average $ Traded , highlighting unusual activity (e.g., A Factor of 10 means today's $Traded is 10x normal $ Traded). The Factor is an important scan parameter you can set in the Scanner.
- 200 Days of Data: View historical trading to spot trends, front-loading, or resistance levels.
Use the left-side buttons to research further - These buttons auto-load data for the current stock, streamlining your research:
- Chart Buttons: View 90 Day, 1-Year, 2-Year, Trading View or Big charts.
- Use the AI Button on the left to evaluate the stock. Push the button, then paste (Ctrl-V) when the AI window comes up. This inserts a pre-composed prompt into the AI window.
- X/Twitter, StockTwits icons at the bottom: Check what's being said about the stock on Twitter/StockTwits.
- IHub, Seeking Alpha icons: See discussions on Investors Hub message boards and Seeking Alpha.
- Filings: Review SEC filings for the stock.
- Summary: Get an overview of the stock.
- News: Check recent news articles.
Step 4: Verify Your Picks
Always verify scan results by monitoring the stock's trading the next day to confirm activity isn't a one-time event. If research supports the activity, consider taking a position sooner.
Tips and Considerations
- Stock List: Click the Stock List button to generate a list of stocks meeting your scan criteria. Clicking on the list will automatically copy it. Then you can paste this list into a streamer (e.g., Think or Swim) to watch in real-time. Learn how to create watchlists in Think or Swim.
- Scanner Filters: Think of scan settings as layered filters. Adjust parameters (e.g., Min/Max Price, RSI, $ Traded) to refine results and find stocks likely to run.
- Notes: You can add public (visible to all members) or private notes for the stock you are on. Click the 'Notes: Add' button above the turquoise stock notes area to add a note.
These notes will help jog your memory later, and also inform other users of what you have discovered/noted.
- Window Management: Research buttons open new windows. Close them when done (Alt+F4 is fastest). Use Alt+Tab to switch between windows quickly.
- Support: Call/Text us via phone (760 702-2009) or our Telegram room for questions. Visit the IHub DDAmanda Board for examples of stock patterns.
